As a homeowner, you may be thinking about asking your roofer to have a meeting with your insurance adjuster. There may be many different reasons this is important to you, or it may be that the roofer has volunteered to meet the adjuster.
In general, meeting an adjuster at your home isn't necessary. If the adjuster misses items in his scope of work on the claim estimate, a roofing contractor has the ability to submit supplement items. He can do this when he submits his estimate to the insurance company. He can then ask for the additional items to be added to the claim (this video helps explain the supplementing process).
Most insurance adjusters know what they are doing, or will follow their company guidelines when inspecting a roof. So meeting with them is usually a waste of time for the roofing contractor.
