Insurance Your Roofer Should Have To Protect You

  • March 6, 2019

Do you, as a homeowner, know what insurance your roofer should have to protect you?  Did you know you could be liable for damages to your property caused by contractors?  Also, did you know that if a contract worker is injured on your property, you could be liable if they don't have the proper insurance?

There are two basic types of insurance that your roofing contractor should have to protect you from liability for property damage, medical costs, and lawsuits due to injuries to workers on your property.

The first is General Liability insurance.  This protects you from liability if a worker on your property breaks or damages something on your property.

The second is Worker's Compensation insurance.  This protects you in case someone gets injured on your property.

Currently, El Paso County only requires a contractor to have general liability insurance if he has no employees. If he has employees he must also have worker's comp insurance.

Watch this video and learn more about which insurance your roofer should have to protect you.
